Sunday 20th November saw the first monthly dog walk of the year for the Lodge of Dawn.
Despite days and days of pouring rain, the weather held up and Noah the Labrador, Barney the Spaniel, Douglas the Bearded Collie, Milo the Labradoodle and Bertie the Bedlington Terrier along with their owners, together with two dogless brothers and a potential new candidate, enjoyed a stroll around Golden Acre Park in North Leeds.
The walk included a circumnavigation around Paul’s Pond (Breary Marsh) and a stroll through the woods, culminating in a well deserved rest (and drinks and food) at Golden Acre Cafe. We even had the benefit of a beautiful rainbow at the end of the morning.
It is planned that we’ll be doing it all again in a month’s time at a different location, when more of the lodge dogs will bring their owners with them.
Freemasonry isn’t only about ritual and charity; it’s also about social activities and this along with many others, is part of why people join the Freemasons. You don’t even have to be a Freemason to join in our dinners, walks and other activities.
If you are not a Freemason and, having read the above, would like to find out more, read our Seven Reason to Join The Freemasons, our guide on ‘How to join The Freemasons‘ or our simple ‘What is Freemasonry?’ page.
