Roundhay Bark

The last Sunday in January saw the latest Lodge of Dawn dog walk. The open spaces of Roundhay Park, in north Leeds, being the venue.

Noah the Labrador, Barney the Spaniel, Ralph the Cavapoochon, Darcey the Cockerpoo, Ziggy the Doberman, Pippin the Dalmadoodle, Kali the Cockerpoo and Ted the Greyhound along with their owners, together with a 16 month old baby Indie, (daughter of our Senior Deacon and grand daughter of one of our Grand Lodge officers) and our dogless Chilean couple, took their owners on a pleasant walk around Roundhay Park lake. Despite the, fortunately short, temporary period of a misplaced dog, everyone enjoyed the exercise.

Such was the extreme physical effort of the walk, the party were ‘forced’ to retire to the local pub, the Roundhay Fox, for some well-earned refreshments.

Freemasonry isn’t only about ritual and charity; it’s also about social activities and this along with many others, is part of why people join the Freemasons. You don’t even have to be a Freemason to join in our dinners, walks and other activities.

If you are not a Freemason and, having read the above, would like to find out more, read our Seven Reason to Join The Freemasons, our guide on ‘How to join The Freemasons‘ or our simple ‘What is Freemasonry?’ page.
