Second Degree, new member and a very funny visitor

On Tuesday March 25th The Lodge of Dawn 6511 saw Bro. Michael Woolfe become a Fellowcraft Freemason. His answers to the ten questions showed that he had clearly done his homework. Of course, ritual was up to its high standard and so everybody who took part delivered a fine ceremony. Bro. Woolfe will no doubt have already started learning his next set of questions to maintain his fine performance.

Bro. Stewart McCracken was successfully balloted and welcomed into the Lodge as a new member. Having moved from Northumberland, Bro McCracken, a former army soldier, is now training to be a teacher. It’s satisfying to know that our reputation as a welcoming and friendly lodge helps Freemasons complete their move.

We were also joined at the festive board by a prospective candidate, adding to the continued interests in new members joining Freemasonry.

Our festive board was also a huge success, with our delicious meals being served promptly and to an increasingly higher standard.

W.Bro Simon Fellerman provided a humorous and perhaps much rehearsed proposal to our visitors, whereby W.Bro Alan Webster duly responded with his infamous charm and wit. Clearly a seasoned speaker, the jokes were observational, funny, and had us all ‘splitting our sides.’ His reference to Bro. Andrew Ullmann’s funny walk being akin to John Cleese is perhaps the only one I should mention here. It was a real treat at the end of an enjoyable evening.

The Lodge was attended by 47 in the Temple and the Festive Board was enjoyed enormously.

The raffle raised £200 for charity of which £20 was collected via our new QR code. A new way to pay for raffle tickets.
