The Lodge of Dawn arranged a trip for lodge members, wives, family and friends to visit Beth Shalom, also named the National Holocaust Centre and Museum near Laxton in Nottinghamshire. The centre was opened in 1995 and is England’s only dedicated Holocaust museum.
The trip took place on Sunday 12 November. We were so privileged to be joined by Arek Hersh MBE, and his wife Jean, who was with us throughout the day. We had the privilege and honour to hear Arek’s personal story of survival, hearing his incredible journey first-hand.
The day was enlightening and inspirational for the whole group (aged 18 to 80+).
Social events, like this one, are one of the key tenets of Freemasonry, and part of the enjoyment, although aspects of the above trip was harrowing. You can read all about our other recent social events here.
