Ever since the first lockdown The Lodge of Dawn have been holding weekly Zoom Lodge meetings. Whilst not the same as meeting in person, they have been a great way for the Lodge brethren to keep in touch, to support each other, have a bit of fun and ensure our masonic bonds remain strong.
On Tuesday November 10th, we hosted another lockdown first, by hosting a lodge inter-visit. In normal times we have an annual, and reciprocal inter-visit with our Mother Lodge. So it made logical sense for us to have a Zoom inter-visit, and our good friends and brethren from our Mother Lodge, Loyalty Lodge 4971, joined us for our weekly meeting.
As we have been used to these past few months, we ‘opened’ the Lodge in the usual manner. We were then treated to a fascinating talk by our resident ‘TV and Radio star’ W Bro. Gary Don, in which he told us about how he came across some unique and never heard before Beatles memorabilia. As is the usual ‘real life’ custom, one of the brethren of the Lodge proposed a toast to the visitors and a representative of the visitors responded.
In total we had 51 brethren in the ‘room’ with more than a dozen from Loyalty Lodge. A wonderful evening of masonic company was had by all, but we are all looking forward to being back at Castle Grove sometime soon in the New Year to properly host the next inter-visit.
